Whether or not there was a full moon last night I don't know. But something was going on in our house.
We always like to brag about what good sleepers our kids are and most of the time they live up to our boasting. But sometimes the stars align and all hell breaks loose.
Our lunar nightmare.
It started at 1:30am. Garrett (4yrs) wakes up and yells for someone to come and hand him his little blanket which has fallen off his bed.
Ahhhhhh!!! Reach over and pick up the blanket yourself!!
But if one of us doesn't get up he will just keep yelling, waking up the whole house. So we get up.
All is quiet until 2:30am. Then Ryan (2yrs) wakes up and starts whimpering. Again nothing big, just needs someone to come and tuck him in again. But it's that getting up and out of bed that's killing me.
But all this was nothing. At 3:30am and we hit the mother load. Paige (9yrs) comes crying hysterically into our room. We jolt out of bed, scared to death something serious is going on. You would have thought she was in the processes of dying from all the drama.
So what was it?? She felt like something was in her eye! That's it. Just a little something in her eye bugging her. You gotta know Paige. She can work herself into a frenzy about "health" issues.
When she realized that I was the one that was going to take care of her she wailed even louder. She was smart enough to realize that I wasn't going to coddle her, stroke her and sing her a lullaby. I was going to march her into her bed and tell her to knock it off.
But in the process she is making such a fuss that she wakes up Garrett and Kate.
A few threats and everybody is back down, but now I am wide awake.
Oh the rage at 3:30am. I swear that I am capable of terrible things when someone messes with my sleep. I lay there seething, waiting.
At 4:30am I hear Paige again. But quickly Mindy jumps up to save her from me.
Then the alarm goes off at 5:30am. &^%*
Every hour on the hour since 1:30am.
By the time these kids get out of the house I will be old enough to have prostate problems. And you know what that means?
Up every hour to go pee.

I laughed so hard. I think every parent has to experience this at least once. I have had this happen way to many times. It's good to see that you're not immune.
Been there, done that. :)
ONCE! This seems to be a WEEKLY occurence in our home. We definitely have the stars aligned over here!
I can testify that Eldon can be a grouch if he doesn't get his beauty sleep.
